Columbus Twp. Fire Department

Columbus Twp. Fire Department is located in on the western side of Kennedy County. CTFD is an all volunteer department the provides fire, rescue, and medical first responder coverage to all of Columbus Twp. CTFD is home to Engine 4-1, Engine 4-2, Tanker 4-4, Tanker 4-5, Grass 4-6, Rescue 4-8, Rescue 4-9, and Kennedy County Medic 3. 

Engine 4-1: This unit responds first due to all structure fires. It responds second due all grass fires

Engine 4-2: This unit responds first due to all Alarms and vehicle fires. It is second due to all MVC's 

Tanker 4-4: This older unit responds as the second out tanker to all fires.

Tanker 4-5: This apparatus responds as the first due tanker from CTFD. it responds second out to all fires in the rural portions of the township.

Grass 4-6: this unit responds to all vegetation fires

Rescue 4-8: this unit serves primarily as a medical first responder unit. it can also serve as a manpower unit on larger scenes

Rescue 4-9: this unit was purchased from Sampson VFD in Cass county. This unit responds to all MVC's and serves as a mobile cascade unit on fire scenes. 

Medic 3: Medic 3 provides ALS coverage to the eastern portion of Kennedy County
