Description
Clay City is located in north central Kennedy County. Clay City Fire Department is a combination department with 10 Full-time and 30 volunteer personnel. CCFD provides Fire, Rescue, Hazmat and BLS non-transport protection to 8,000 residents and 10 square miles of Clay City. CCFD is home to Engine 5-1, Engine 5-2, Ladder 5-7. Grass Rig 5-9, and Chief 5.
Engine 5-1: This apparatus responds second out to all fires and MVCs. It is primarily staffed by volunteer personnel.
Engine 5-2: This unit responds first out to all MVCs, Vehicle fires, and medical calls.
Ladder 5-7: This unit responds first out to all fires within Clay City. It also responds regularly to mutual aid requests in the northern portion of Kennedy County.
Grass Rig 5-9: This unit responds first to all vegetation fires with Clay City.
Chief 5: Chief 5 is staffed during normal business hours by the fire chief. During the weekends it is staffed by the on call senior officer.
