Description
Briarwood Community Fire Department is located 25 miles west of Centralia in western Fairland County along SR-414. Established in 1955, this combination department includes 78 members who provide Fire, Rescue and ALS response from two stations. BCFD protect a rapidly growing suburban and rural community of more than 25,000 residents over 64 square miles including portions of Briar, Lisbon and Orange Townships. Station 201 serves as headquarters for BCFD. It is staffed by 10 personnel and is home to Engine 201, Medic 201, Ladder 201, Rescue 201, and Battalion 20.
Engine 201: (1500gpm/1000gal) Staffed with 4 personnel, this apparatus responds as the primary suppression apparatus from station 201. It is also equipped with addition equipment to supplement Rescue 201.
Medic 201: Staffed with 2 paramedics, This ALS ambulance serves the western and southern portions of the district.
Ladder 201: (1500gpm/300gal) Staffed with 3 personnel, the ladder responds to all alarms and fires within the district. It also responds as automatic aid to Salem Township.
Rescue 201: Crossed staffed by ladder 201, this unit responds district wide to all vehicle crashes, and specialty rescues within the district and northern Fairland county. It is equipped for dive, extrication, rope, trench, and confined space rescues. It also is equipped with a command module to operate the drones stored on this unit.
Battalion 20: Staffed with a battalion chief, BC20 responds district wide to all major incidents.
