Description
Branch Township is located on the southeastern side of Delmar county. This suburban and rural township is home to 10,000 residents and is rapidly growing. Branch Township Fire Department is an all volunteer department made up of 30 volunteers. EMS transport services are provided by Delmar County Rescue Squad. BTFD is home to Engine 9, Engine 9-2, Tanker 9, Brush 9, Rescue 9, and Squad 9.
Engine 9: (2000gpm/750gal) Engine 9 responds first out to all fires and alarms within the township. It responds 2nd out to all vehicle crashes.
Engine 9-2 (1500gpm/1000gal) This unit served as the primary engine for BTFD prior to the arrival of Engine 9. It now responds as the second out engine for fires and major calls.
Tanker 9: (2000gpm/2500gal) Purchased at the same time as Engine 9, This unit serves as the primary tanker for BTFD. This unit is equipped to serve as an engine if needed, but primarily serves as a tanker.
Brush 9: (300gpm/400gal) Brush 4 responds first out to all brush and field fire calls within the township. It also regularly will respond with mutual aid partners to larger brush fires.
Rescue 9: This Unit unit responds first out for extrication and rescue calls. In addition to various rescue equipment, this truck includes a cascade fill station with 6 bottles.
Squad 9: S-9 is equipped to the BLS level and responds first out to all medical and public assist calls within the township. It also serves as a traffic control unit for accidents and fire calls.
