Description
Alfont Volunteer Fire Department protects the village of Alfont and all of Clay and Hoover Townships. AVFD is an all volunteer department that provides fire, rescue, and EMS first responder services. With a staff of 15 volunteers, AVFD responds to 300 calls. AVFD is home to Engine 15, Engine 15-2 Rescue 15, Tanker 15, Utility 15, and Brush 15.
EMS transport services are provided by Columbus EMS.
Engine 15: (1250gpm/750gal) Engine 15 responds first out to all fire calls. It also responds second out to brush fires. It is equipped with basic firefighting equipment
Engine 15-2: (1500gpm/750gal) This unit responds second out to all structure fires and alarms. It is equipped as a standard engine company
Rescue 15: This unit responds first out to all crashes and rescue calls. Equipped with seating for 6, this unit also responds to all manpower requests. Rescue 15 carries 2 sets of extrication tools, 2 chain and rotary saws, a mobile cascade system, and numerous hand tools
Tanker 15: (1500gpm/3000gal) Tanker 15 responds 2 second out to any fire call without fire hydrants.
Utility 15: This unit responds first out to all medical calls. It is equipped as a BLS non-transport unit. It can also responds as a command unit to larger incidents
Brush 15: (350gpm/300gal) Brush 15 responds to all vegetation fires. It can also serve as a manpower transport as needed.
