This group has been essentially stagnant for quite a few years. I'm overhauling the whole thing. I am now the only deviant capable of voting on images, and so for this reason one vote is all that is necessary to get a photo submitted to the group.

However, I will be taking applications for group Contributors, who could also vote on submissions. I'm at a desk during the day Mon-Fri, but it'd be nice to find someone who is on dA weekends or evenings so if that tends to be the window in which you find yourself here, I'll be more likely to accept you as contributor. Try not to think of it as an obligation, but as a sneak peak to submissions before anyone else.

Please see our About Us section to learn more about the group's rules, submissions etc.

Hope to hear from some of you!!

Rules and Group Info

General Rules

1. There is a three deviation submission limit. Once those three have been voted on and cleared, you maybe submit three more.

2. No flaming or non constructive criticism will be tolerated on any of our submissions or toward any of our members or gallery contributors.

3. Do not harass our Contributors if your deviation was not accepted. It was put to a vote, and the vote is final.

4. All deviations submitted must be your own work. Art theft and plagiarizing will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling or spamming the front page will not be tolerated.

These rules and more are found with greater detail under our About Us tab:…

What can I submit?

Anything you like, so long as it's spider related or spider themed! Photography, paintings, drawings, literature, arts and crafts... it's up to you! Even if we may have faved it already, go ahead and submit it to the gallery proper anyway!

We only ask that whatever you do submit can clearly be recognized as a spider, or in the case of literature, as being about spiders. It has to be obvious and clear that the subject relates to the group. If it needs to be explained, it does not belong in SpiderLovers.

We also try to keep a level of quality as to the deviations in our gallery. Too many scribbled spiders or low light, grainy spider photos clogging up your inbox is no fun! So keep that in mind when submitting to us.

Submitting Art

In order to submit art to the group click on the "Gallery" button. You will see a button that says "Submit to this Gallery." Click on it and pick the deviation that you would like to submit from your gallery!

If there's something spidery you think should be in our group's favs, suggest it!

Hi! Thank you for accepting my request to join! :)
When I'll be able to submit my works here? Just asking, since if I try to submit a spider work I receive the message that I'm not allowed to submit to the group. :)

If you're part of the group as a general Member, you should be able to submit deviations into the Featured part of the Gallery. However only a set number of deviations may be submitted at a time, and if those already submitted have not yet been voted through, it will stop you submitting any more until those original deviations have been processed, which I'm hoping is the case because I cannot see any other reason why the system wouldn't be allowing you to submit anything.

I have a question, I've found a spider in my house and cannot figure out what it is. I was hoping someone could help me. They're not very good images so I don't think they'd be accepted into the group. But here are the links to the images I was able to get: and

For future ID-ing you could try this…
They ID from your photo and it's free.  I have found them to be an invaluable resource!

I believe it might be Amaurobius ferox, but I am not sure about it. It depends on the lenght of spider, location,.. type of spiderweb might be useful too. I am not any expert I'm just interested in spiders (just like in many other things..) so I hope it helps you and does not make too much chaos. :,D

You can check my website to see my small spider catalogue -there are not many of them, but it might be useful ..or you can simply look for some database of spider photos on the internet (there are usually some good databases with photos and correct names.. so you should be able to identify "your" spider on your own. Good luck!
