do any of you guys have any tips on staying awake and focused at school?? bc recently after 5th period i get REALLY tired like. i literally almost pass out i'm so tired. and 6th and 7th period have become hell for me bc i'm trying so hard to stay awake at the very least. and it's rly weird bc this only started like maybe a month ago?? i get 8 or more hours of sleep every night too, i'm rly confused and suffering. help

eating carbohydrates at lunch can cause drowsiness in the afternoon, but when I'm tired I'll go to the bathroom and splash cold water on my eyes, seems to help

but I basically live off of energy drinks which isn't really a healthy solution but hey it works lol

huh. for some reason i never really considered the kinda food i was eating for lunch lol

im thinkin about trying energy drinks tbh bc they seem to be the quickest solution :0

haha they're delicious but they kinda fuck you up,

I try to drink them sparingly only on mondays bc I don't wanna get used to the caffiene and reduce its effect

this happens to me too every day, altho more than just at the same time. 
but feeling tired around the mid-afternoon, like 1-3, is actually pretty normal for humans because of our circadian rhythm. i dont remember the full details but its very common to be sleepy at that time of the day because its in our bodies' instincts. 

however, if you're feeling like, uncontrollably tired where you can't possibly stay awake no matter how much fidgeting, caffeine, etc, and it feels like your body is just trying to shut down no matter how much u fight it, then i would probs recommend talking to a doctor. because there could be an underlying sleep disorder, which is pretty common. i think a lot of people have undiagnosed sleep issues that they would be able to solve if they went to a doctor. so if ur able, i would definitely recommend talking to a doctor. especially if it doesnt go away, or if it gets worse. 

sorry i dont have any actual tips but i totally relate to this. its really embarrassing when ur visibly falling asleep and no one else is. maybe just bring some caffeine like an energy drink with you to school and use it to keep up your energy throughout the day. maybe you could even bring it up to your teacher and they would let you stand up every once in a while to shake off the sleepiness. 

but yea. best of luck dealing with this and i hope it goes away :0

i'll definitely be monitoring this and seeing if it gets any worse :0 it was pretty bad today, but after 6th period i actually felt fine so??? idk man lol :'^)

I know the feeling, man; I'm kind of like that in lectures that are 3+ hours long, you've lost me by the end XD
I'll try to give some advice though ^^

What I try to do if I start getting tired is to move around a bit, but since I'm in a classroom, as unnoticeable as possible. Just changing sitting position fairly often or tapping your hand on the table is sometimes enough to keep you up ^^. A solution that usually works for me is to leave the room and walking around for a few minutes then coming back (but we're just allowed to walk out whenever we want here and I'm not sure if your school works like that XD)
Energy drinks also help! I guess coffee would to but I've not tried it haha
It also might be worth going to a doctor about it if it's been going on that long, I'm sure I had a similar problem a while ago and was told it was caused by a lack of certain vitamins or something??? It might be worth checking it out because if that's the cause it's easily solved with tablets.

thanks for the advice!! i appreciate it!!! i think im gonna try out some energy drinks, those seem like the quickest solution lol. the vitamin thing might be a factor too now that i think about it. im prone to vitamin D deficiencies (since i never go outside lmao) but i have supplements so i'll start taking those again and see if it changes anything :^)

its a common thing to happen to teenagers after making it halfway through the day/lunch
my junior year i couldn't stay away in spanish II for the life of me.

don't get in the habit of falling alseep at that time cause it will be harder to shake.
if you are sensitive to sugar (get hyper if you have too much) try drinking a soda slowly thru the rest of the school day

honestly ur not gonna learn much if you're super tired anyway but... good luck
