Hephaestos' Cane 1

This piece is forged iron, aproximately 3ft in length (1 meter). I wanted to forge a walking cane, so I did. It was created in the spring of 2006, it's the first one I've ever made, and the first time I've ever chiseled a face (the one on the handle). Once I can find a forge to work in, I hope to make more of these.

Very Impressive! I want one... Perhaps I shall make one... eventually.
Nice work, too bad you are not in or near NY, you would be welcome to come to my shop and work.
hey thanks, you make some nice blades from what i see, bladesmithing is something i want to get into at some point, it is too bad i'm not closer to NY, i could use a shop to work in. did you learn to make japanese blades on your own or did you have any instruction?
for forging, i am completely self taught when it comes to blades, but studied under a master artist blacksmith for general forging techniques, and advanced.
