tiny summer
in these lingering moments of summer, all is well
the golden light is truth, and experience
long autumn
in the approaching moments before winter, all is calm
the empty shadows: I am alone, and to be alone is to be at peace
inevitable winter
in the quiet moonlight as autumn ends, everything has changed
the silver glow, reflected, simply says, there is no time for regrets
spring, spring
in the time since spring has come and gone, I have done everything
now back to a golden summer, boundless and anything but small
such great seasons, such long years
so many changes, so many tears

the principle of wandering
we make our way, wondering
where this all leads
to celestial eternity or boundless flames
stellar inclusion and bountiful plains
inside pallid dreams, inside technicolour dreams
exiting the facets of the individual
multidimensional, twenty-sided
vigesimal equations
where one-zero and one-zero for us
is just one-zero for them
and all the wherewithal to see
the infinite design within
seashells and pinecones and hives of bees
start with zero and
one now, one later,
two, and three
raise your hand, up, higher, and stretch
dip your toes into the sand
let go
five, eight
and despite its golden value
it must always include
an unlucky
thirteen
spiral around, it never ends

she-beat
the pulse...wavers
she breathes, inhales
lifts one finger to her throat
a thumb, perhaps...yes, that was it
and checks her heartbeat
she's not very good at this
she can tell she's doing something...wrong
but she doesn't know what it is
who she is, any more
can't stop breathing, so quickly
her vision tunnels, and there is darkness
and she asks herself,
if i cannot see, if i cannot be found
where am i?
she pulls away, and her thumb is left...stained
there's blood there
and she doesn't know why

Literature
for the love of god
for the love of god, such mortals will strive
seeking out penance, redemption, and death
unerring men of holy writ contrive
to claim mortal hold beyond mortal breath
adorning altar with incense and gold
incanting, enchanting, this god is called
with spilt blood, burnt bone, and the lies are told
  the innocent witnesses watch, enthralled
gaping, neither sinless, nor absolved now
no question in their minds that this is right
raised with, raising, these crimes they disavow
no answer except this can they recite
but for the love of god, these mortals seek
truly only men who keep them meek

prelude to passages repeated
Imagine that the universe is cyclical, passages repeated endlessly for all time. Lost, found, lost, and remembered. Eventually, you forget - possibly there was no beginning? - where it all started, and you maybe find the kernel of wisdom in that - knowledge? or experience? - the beginning and end are not of consequence.
Only the journey.
You can learn the same thing a million times and know nothing.
You can learn the same thing a million times and know everything.
Carry this with you, always.

The Page of Coins
The Fool continues on his way, deciding to leave the forest behind him. Even now, he is making the choices that will shape his future. Every step he takes is a step forward, yet he still has far to go.
Intent upon his travels, eager to experience the World around him, he takes in the scenery. The trees here are tall, strong, and the underbrush is ripe with berries. He can hear the wildlife, too, now that he stops to listen. The birdsong never ceases, never quiets; it echoes the heartbeat of the forest. The Fool feels connected, alive.
And yet, though he is deep in the heart of the woods, the trees are blotting out most of the Sun. This is a different World from the one to which he is accustomed.
Learning from his last experience, the Fool stops. Standing still, he gazes down the path on which he has set himself. The end is nowhere in sight, but there is a distinct direction. A sudden updraft carries a spiral of brown and gold leaves up and around the Fool. He can smell soft, wet earth

The Fool
A young Fool leaves home early one morning, the Sun having barely risen, ready to make his way in the World. Expecting to meet with no trouble, and having not the experience to plan for any, the Fool takes with him only the clothes upon his back - and a loaf of soft bread wrapped within a handkerchief, tied at his side. He knows that when night falls, he will find himself a warm cottage and a friendly neighbour ready to take him in; food will be warm and in surplus; and if he must wash and clean his clothes, a warm bath and running water will be drawn for him.
And so, our young Fool sets out for the winding road, with only the horizon in his sights. He does not see the sign at his feet, pointing his destination out behind him; he does not realise he is heading toward a dark forest ahead, with unknown obstacles and villains. And, if he did, he would not have the experience to understand the dangers and turn back.</i>
Perhaps this is the fault of the foolish, of the young, of the naiv

I've decided that for a month (starting with last night's influence map) I'm gonna submit one deviation each day. Pieces of stories, memes, random photos and artwork, whatever. I just need something that'll force me to flex my creative muscle for an extended period of time so that I know I still can. I'll throw in some web design, too, maybe, and hopefully get back on track with my interests.
