Retaking the Courtyard

As reinforcements from the New Republic, Resistance, and National Guard arrived in New York City, the First Order and their allies were pushed back to the Courtyard of the World Trade center, where they seemed to be setting up a command post. Because of this, Rodian Commander Glax, believed that this was part of an invasion. The New Republic and emergency personnel wanted to resume rescue efforts to help people who may still be trapped in both twin towers. Commander Glax then had an idea. Send in an AT-TE to scale the South Tower, as more people were trapped in the South Tower than the North. At the same time, a task force of Clones, Rebels, SWAT Units, and National Guard members would re-take the courtyard. But unbeknownst to the New Republic, this was exactly what the First Order wanted. As the Task force began to push into the courtyard, the First Order were deploying more reinforcements, including advanced Dwarf Spider Droids, and mysterious soldiers in Red Armor. Nobody knew who these soldiers were and why they were helping the First Order. The AT-TE was able to slip past the battle and began to climb the South Tower. Amazingly, the South Tower was able to withstand the weight of the AT-TE. Soon, the First Order and their allies were pushed back to their troop transports. Around 9:53 A.M, the First Order's ground troops were ordered to retreat and get back into the Dropships. It seemed the First Order had lost, but in reality, the First order allowed the New Republic to win. Their ground forces were meant to be bait for the New Republic and the National Guard. By luring as many soldiers to the Courtyard of the World trade center, they would not be able to escape what the First Order knew what was about to happen. With the Courtyard re-taken, rescue efforts could resume (Even though there was still an aerial battle). Around 9:58 A.M, the AT-TE was loaded with several severely injured survivors that were trapped. The AT-TE began it's decent, but it never made it. Suddenly, the New Republic, National Guard, Resistance, and SWAT realized they had walked right into a trap, as the South Tower began to fall apart. Glax ordered the task force to retreat, but it was too late. The South Tower collapsed, taking the AT-TE with it. Everyone in the AT-TE was killed. Almost all of the soldiers and SWAT units that were a part of the task force was crushed and buried to death under the falling debris of the South Tower, including Commander Glax. Within a single moment, nearly all of the task force was lost, with only a handful managing to make it to safety. 

Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, was seen differently across the galaxy. Those who sympathized with Earth and the New Republic knew that day as "The day Earth wept". But to the First Order and their allies (Including allies on Earth), that day was known as "Operation: Unrelenting Punishment". 




This Scenario of my World History Alternate Timeline is once again dedicated to those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. You are not forgotten, and never will be. May they rest in peace.
