Recovery of Mechagodzilla

In the weeks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Mechagodzilla would slowly be excavated from the rubble of the North Tower. When the upper torso of Mechagodzilla was excavated from the rubble, then President Bush and Clone Commander Thire visited ground zero to observe the recovery efforts of Mechagodzilla.

"Do you think it was wise to activate Mechagodzilla?"

"I did what I had to Thire. I thought Mechagodzilla could turn the tide of the battle, and save more lives."

"Yes, Mechagodzilla proved itself when deployed, yet it still failed to save the North Tower."

"I know... And because of Mechagodzilla's failure, the United Nations wants to create a new Mechagodzilla."

"The general public is also divided on the existence of Mechagodzilla. On one side, people are in full support of Mechagodzilla and Anti-kaiju weapons. But on the other side, people are against the idea of large scale anti-kaiju weapons. I remember being told by someone, I don't remember who, saying, 'If one country is capable of creating a Mechagodzilla for protection, then another country will create another Mechagodzilla for destruction.'"

"All the more reason why the original should be kept under lock and key"

Shortly after his visit to New York, President Bush would return to DC to give an address to the nation about the true purpose of the Mechagodzilla project, his motives for activating Mechagodzilla during the attacks, and the divided public opinion of Mechagodzilla.

This scenario of the Earthverse is dedicated to the service men and women and volunteers who assisted in search and rescue efforts in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It is also dedicated to the souls who lost their lives on this day 23 years ago. May they forever be in our memories.
