Despite doing everything in his power to keep the reactivation of one of the droid factories on Geonosis a secret, Vox made the mistake of sending a finished Lucrehulk battleship to orbit the planet of Geonosis to monitor any activity near the planet, and to shoot down any spacecraft that come near to Geonosis. This of course caught the attention of the New Republic. A small scouting party managed to slip past the Lucrehulk and discover the re-activated droid factory. However, the scouting party was quickly spotted. Before they were all killed by demons, one member of the scouting party managed to send information to the nearest New Republic Fleet about the droid factory. When the New Republic got word about the droid factory, they initially believed it was the First Order and their allies. But after scanning comm channels for any previous First Order activity near Geonosis, and reviewing the information sent by the scouting party, they realized this wasn't the First Order, but demons from Hell had re-activated the droid factory. However, the New Republic still didn't know Vox was behind it all. Nor did they know why he had the factory re-activated. But what the New Republic did know is a certain someone who could help them. The last time the New Republic requested assisance to fight the Legion of Hell, it ended in a disastrous defeat, as Adam and the majority of the exorcists were overconfident, and underestimated the Legion of Hell. Resulting in the deaths of many Clone Troopers, New Republic Soldiers, and exorcists. Vowing to never again request the help from Adam and the exorcists, the New Republic turned to another ally. One who struck fear into any demon from his mere presence. The one who chose the path of perpetual torment. The one who scoured the umbral plains, seeking vengeance against the dark lords who wronged him. The Doom Slayer.
While Doomguy was not a member of the Resistance, nor aligned with the New Republic, he was a supporter of the New Republic. Several months prior, he even liberated a New Republic Venator that was taken over by Demons, where he took a Sith Lightsaber from a Marauder who found said lightsaber in the Venator's storage wing. With Doomguy and the New Republic on good terms, it was a no-brainer for Doomguy when the New Republic requested the slayer's assistance. Joining the strike force to attack Geonosis, the Doom Slayer boarded a Republic Gunship with several Clone Troopers and New Republic Soldiers, as it took off. Passing the Lucrehulk as it desperately tried to fend off the New Republic cruisers of the strike force. Inside the Gunship, one of the Clone Troopers activated a hologram revealing Clone Captain Tukk. Tukk was in the process of briefing Doomguy on the situation on Geonosis when suddenly, the gunship got shot down by vulture droids. When the slayer regained consciousness, every clone trooper, and New Republic soldier with him in the gunship were dead. The pilots also died in the crash. Gathering his weapons, the Doomguy tried to get back into contact with Tukk for what he is to do. After re-establishing contact with Tukk, Doomguy was given his first objective. Vox's demons had re-activated an orbital concussion turret. If any of the New Republic cruisers were to attempt to enter Geonosis's atmosphere to drop off more troops, vehicles, and ammo, they were at risk of getting shot out of the sky by the concussion turret. Doomguy was to find the turret and take it out. After finding a supply cache that was air dropped near his location, Doomguy set off to find the concussion turret. He knew there would be Demons and droids waiting for him, but this didn't phase him the slightest. Besides his objective was simple, Rip and Tear.
