Defense of Manhattan

While Commander Glax's task force was attempting to retake the courtyard of the World Trade center, another battle was raging on. The streets of Manhattan (Specifically near the World Trade Center) turned into warzones. Battles between New Republic Soldiers, National Guard Members First Order Stormtroopers, Imperial Stormtroopers, and Battle Droids were taking place. Abandoned cars in the streets were ample cover for troopers of both sides. While the Clones, New Republic Soldiers, and National Guard Members were under immense pressure, believing this was the start of an invasion, they still did their best to push the First Order and their allies back to the World Trade Center as the world around them burned. However, at one point, the Stormtroopers were called back to the transports, and most of the vehicles began to turn back, while the Battle Droids remained. This baffled the New Republic and National Guard, but they still had to hold out against the droids. As the Stormtroopers headed back to the transports, more Battle Droids were deployed. Something was off. By the time The New Republic and National Guard realized what was going on, it was too late, as the South Tower collapsed. While many New Republic Troopers and National Guard members were killed in the collapse, those that remained had to fight on, even in the dust cloud that engulfed Manhattan. After the North Tower Collapsed after Mechagodzilla failed to save the North Tower, the fighting finally stopped. The TIE Fighters, Vulture droids and remaining troop and vehicle transports returned to the First Order Star Destroyer that was hovering near Manhattan island. Any remaining Battle droid in New York were given a self-destruct command. The First Order was hoping their joint-operation would cripple America and possibly the world. But after Then-current President Bush made his presidential address, clearly signaling that America, and other countries across Earth would not give in, the First Order declared war on planet Earth. 











This scenario of my World History Alternate Timeline is meant to pay tribute to the First Responders, Firefighters, Police Officers, and Paramedics (And everyone else) who lost their lives on this day 22 years ago. They will never be forgotten. May their souls rest in peace.
