Speed Savage is one of my favorite characters from Canadian comics of the 1940's. I think because of his name. He is just an action adventurer. Speed Savage is his real name. His hero identity is "The White Mask". But I think his creator Ted Steele (real name) preferred Speed because that name always appeared in big type on the title pages and covers. Plus his mask was not always coloured white, so they didn't seem to strict about it.
