The Guardsman absorbs energy, and so he absorbs Nitro's powers.
Nitro was a golden-age hero who had no powers, just a guy who liked to beat up criminals, when he wasn't being a forensic cop named Terry Allan (all true). I revamped him and gave him powers, after all Nitro is a cool name.
The female hero is The Wing. Originally she had no wings, she flew with the help of a magic cape. if your going to call a character "Wing", give her wings.
