On Old Earth, thousands of years in the past, mankind had reached a golden age. It was a word without borders or conflict, without wars or strife. Peace reigned, science and nature were held in equal regard, and the best and brightest of our world looked up to the stars, ready to visit other worlds and spread the achievements and wisdom of humanity to the far corners of the galaxy. On giant, self-sustaining vessels, these colonists journeyed into deep space to settle on new worlds. Many found bountiful and verdant planets, filled with exotic and abundant life. But one of these vessels was badly damaged by a space-cataclysm in the middle of its journey, and forced to crash-land on the nearest solid celestial body with an atmosphere.
