Ogon Bat

Redesign of Ōgon Bat (Golden Bat), a Japanese proto-superhero introduced in 1931. You may have noticed he got namechecked in today's page of Apex Society (he won't be actually appearing in this story though, but he'll show up some day). Ōgon Bat was the star of Kamishibai stories, a form of Japanese street theatre using pre-painted art as storytelling aids. 

As it was live street theatre, and in a language I don't understand, I'm not sure exactly how the original Ōgon Bat stories went, but from what I've gathered, he's a superhuman from ancient Atlantis. His head is a golden skull and he wears a Musketeer outfit (for some reason) and wields a rapier. He can fly, has super strength and invulnerability. He fights robots and villains like the evil Dr. Erich Nazō. His home base in in the Japanese Alps. 

For the redesign, I made him glowy like the form Fantômas took when he absorbed the Vril Generator in the current Apex Society story, only golden (I'm going to say that the Atlantean Vril was generated with the rare metal Orichalcum which makes it gold instead of blue). I replaced his original costume with garments in the style of my image of Atlantis, and gave him a khopesh instead of the rapier.
