RAW is incredibly useful I find, being able to apply white balance off camera on a bigger screen is handy :D .NEF and ViewNX forever XD

RAW's an editable version of film negs. If you're confident and don't want to spend time editing or being slowed up during shooting and workflow, then go jpg. Even better, go film and concentrate on the image you're taking, rather than the editing you're making.

(sorry for mini-rant).

;)

Stamp used with gratitude.

The K10D was the first ever DSLR to support 2 RAW formats (someone chime in if I'm not right): PEF and DNG. (dpreview states that using DNG is better than PEF)

Cool,

I shoot JPEGs now for the sake of fps.

Really? What kind of camera do you have? Some of the newer models have great fps for RAW format images too (especially if you have a good, high-speed memory card).
My camera is a 3+ year old, Canon Powershot G3 and it gets pretty good fps for RAW format images. Then again, it was top of the line when I got it.
Plus, I almost always shoot one photo at a time...

Point and shoots are different than dSLRs.

I shoot raw a lot, but I use Jpeg to bracket when I have a tripod.

Nikon D70s w/ Sandisk Ultra II 1gig cf.

i get about 3 shots before the buffer fills.

i usually skip the raw deal and go jpeg, i get 4 more shots in, and i can skip the editing.
