Slit Dress Marvelous Designer by soup-sammich Slit Dress Marvelous Designer by soup-sammich
For anyone who downloads the file:

Contents are: SlitDressTris.mtl, SlitDressTris_0.mtl, SlitDressTris.obj, SlitDress.png, SlitDress.zpac, SlitDress_0.mtl, SlitDressQuads.mtl, SlitDressQuads.obj, SlitDressQuads_0.mtl

Here are some of the basics:
1. This is just the dress.  No shoes, no girl.
--1.a. Just the dress.  Which is fairly long.  I recommend your model wear heels.  And tall ones at that.  Flats won't do...
2. It only has the default .mtl texture that Marvelous Designer exports with the files.  You're on your own for the texturing...
3. If you have Marvelous Designer, just download, unzip, and open the .zpac.
4. If you don't have Marvelous Designer, feel free to use the included .obj to make rigged/dynamic clothing.
5. The .obj versions of the dress polygons are both triangles and quads.
--5.a. Please choose appropriately for your simulation program.
6. The files are fairly high poly, don't expect them to work well in older programs like Carrara.
7. The promo images were done after the file exports, so the wrinkles you see in the "T" pose promo image may/may not be present in the dress files.
--7.a. The "T" pose drape for the .obj's was done on a default Genesis 3 Female.  So, compared to the lovely Jada, the dress will be a bit larger overall.
8. If you use the dress in a render, please credit me here! (optional, but I'd like to see what you do with it :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin))

Hope you enjoy the dress, and please let me see what you do with it! :D (Big Grin) Hug

Hi, can you extract models from Transformers games ?

I’ve looked into extracting models from games and it can be pretty sketchy, results wise. It’s not really in my wheel house.

Idiots Guide note please,... Where/How does one download the dress ?

Edit: okie, now the download links work for me,... I think there's a page-timeout, so if the page is open long enough to read the comments, the link to the download goes 404

Strange... I wonder if Deviant Art knows about the download link time-out? Unfortunately it’s not something I can fix... :(

Did you get the dress downloaded successfully?

Any suggested surface settings for dforce ?

In all the renders I did, I pretty much left everything default. Except the expansion/contraction ratio. That needs to be bumped down a bit from 100 to around 98-99, but that should be a part of the item already, so you should be good to drape “out of the box.” If not, just bump it down a little bit and it’ll fit right. :)

Looks like expansion ratio was set to 90,.. Ran a sim, applied the shrunken legs in frame 01, draped by frame 15, little wind, looked good.

Altered my model for a slender look, spotted dress surfaces were 3Delight shaders, swapped it to Iray shader, dress now explodes. :(

It looks like the dress is colliding with itself near the bottom (maybe?). Did you clear the old animation after changing the shaders? Or turn off self collision? In my limited experience with dforce, it can be a bit unstable... In my testing with some of my dresses I’ve had it explode sometimes for what seems like no reason... Then on subsequent re-drapes I get no issues...

Also, you may want to increase your animation timeline to a full 30 frames for the pose and at least another 30-60 frames for the drape to settle. This method has worked well for me in the past: fav.me/dbuis6x

The wind node seemed to spin the tails around each other as the front one blew backwards, but they're not actually touching - I'd checked, thinking the same thing :)

More frames,... should keep my ol' PC chugging for a while - i7-950 was pretty fast when bought, now,.. not so much.

I did a close up render, then have converted to Sub-D and that smoothed the mesh more in the closer shot, I'll go back to the file that exploded once the new CU has uploaded, see if I can't get a slimmer gal to enjoy the wind nodes.

Let me know what happens! I haven’t even thought to play with the wind settings yet...
