ANS Republic

With the recent Upgrades in Naval technology, the Scientists of the Alliance States, struggling to keep up, Went to their ally the Spartan Empire for Advice.
the Athenian Shipyards took delivery of the ANS Republic, an Avenger-class vessel severely damaged in the Breakout of Red Sun Empire Warships from Taiwan. the Spartan engineers instantly saw the flaws in the ships' design: her overly large Funnels, Lack of Range finding equipment, unnecessarily tall masts, and small amount of AA defenses had contributed to her damage.

stripping her down to her deck, the Republic was upgraded with the best of compatible Spartan tech. replacing her 11 inch guns with Spartan 12-inchers increased her weapons range, and the removal of her superfluous casemate guns allowed for addition of a variety of AA guns, form 105mm single mounts to double 40mm mounts to quad and single 20mm guns. A recon seaplane was mounted on a launch platform on her stern, and her Radar and Direction equipment was upgraded. Her engines also received an upgrade, swapping her steam engines with Spartan Turbodiesel turbines, increasing her speed to 40 knots to keep up with Norman Battleships.

she is currently engaged alongside the Spartan SNS Xerxes, chasing the HIMS Lorraine across the Indian ocean.
