For my second amiibo mod, I wanted to try something a little more challenging than simple repaint.  Zelda from Skyward Sword is probably my favorite incarnation of the character, so I was wondering if I could transform the Zelda amiibo into this design.  I think it actually worked out pretty well!  I cut off and filed down the parts I didn't need, added on the new elements with Sculpey, and then gave the whole thing a new paint job.  It took quite some time to finish, but I think I really learned a lot working on it.  Unlike my previous mod, which was a gift, this one has become my personal Zelda amiibo that I've started leveling in Smash Bros.  :)

I've got a few more mods that I'd like to do, but I'm about to get started on a new game project, so free time is about to get pretty slim.  I'm hoping I at least get to finish the next one that I've started, though.

That does look very nice for sure, though I'll admit that I have yet to play "The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword" for myself. :blushes:

can you create a Zelda dressed like Ilia, Malon, or Marin? :)
Or, a Link from tp dressed like sumo?

I'm glad you like it!  Unfortunately, these mods are very time-consuming, so I'm only doing the ones I really want to see personally.  I probably won't be doing any more Zelda mods anytime soon, but I am in the process of doing a Skyward Sword Link mod to go along with Zelda.

Thank you!

Modding recommendations:  Tweezers to remove shoulder armor, knife to cut off bottom of dress, rotary tool and LOTS of sandpaper to smooth down dress and hair, Sculpey to add bangs, sailcloth, and belt/sash, acrylic paints, tiniest paintbrushes you can find, lots of time and patience, good lighting, and a steady hand.  :)

I'm not going to lie. I think Skyward Sword Zelda is the cutest of her incarnations.

What a gorgeous job! My only question is, don't you have to bake Sculpey? o.o You put the amiibo in the oven? LOL It still works!? XDD

Since the layers of Sculpey were so thin, I was able to boil it rather than baking it.  And yes, it still works (the base was wrapped up in plastic and never submerged).  :)

It's remarkably well done! :) It must have taken so much patience (and skill) to accomplish! Wonderful work. ^^

Wow! Skyward Zelda is my favorite as well :D
I hear uncured sculpey can eat out some plastics if left for too long, did you boil it right away afeter modelling?

Yeah, I pretty much boiled it as soon as it was finished.  I was really excited to get to work on painting it.

Wow, I wish I had your skill...I'd love to have a Skyward Sword Zelda amiibo (and her as a costume in Smash Bros..but that's another story).

do you bake the parts first and then glue them onto your amiibo?
