Breathing Deeply, the words just don't come.
Walking Backwards, hoping to find where I was.
Holding Hands, heart skipping beats two through one.
Finding Strength, to not destroy this moment.
Holding Roses, Black and Red.
Hoping you won't leave me standing,
here all on my own, and then you said,
Take your hand off my fucking leg.
Breathing Deeply, Walking Backwards,
Crying out for some disaster.
She takes my hand and leads me foward,
into the light.
Leave me standing here,
I don't want to be around.
I had a dream that you left me there,
Outside your window.
And we could love again,
And we could laugh again,
We could cry again

If you could record the sounds of the hallway:
snares dropping, voices humming, pin drop quiet.
Orange sticks hurried into pockets
raining on the ground like coffee beans
in an empty Starbucks.
Eyes freeze silently
staring down humiliations throat.
Tears are forgotten
mocking the cold gossips
swirling throughout the cesspool.
An orange puff dances above
brown and black and blonde sea
of raised whispers adrift in cacophony.
The chocolate melts in plaited skirt,
a face flames bright cherry.

I am a pool of fragile hard heartedness
Lying stagnant upon the horizons bank of desire;
Your temperature rises as mine recedes
And breaks into a fervor of sickly palm sweat.
You are the butterfly alight to lustful lingerie
Pealing the petals back one velvet touch at a time;
My fingers falter as yours masterfully crescendo
And splatters the paint upon parted nether lips.
Were phoenix dust simmering after the flash of fire
Whisked gently over the barren rocks of burnt decay;
Our seeds burst, germinating under star marked time
And arouse at waning light to blood the radiance reborn.

Tear apart my song
I tried to sing to you all along.
You're haunting my dreams
As pure as snow
Reaching out a hand to go...
But far away ... I am there
And cannot choose the path to confidence
That's where I am:
Standing at the crossroads
Without your shadow to follow ...
But I hear a voice deep in my chest
And my head is singing me away ...
Keep your eyes on me, my dear
I come back home, just guide my way ...
So, lost in songs of your heart
So, flying the swan of your dreams
I'm whole in your dimension
When I'm not kept in-between
I ride the dawn of your day
Till night falls upon my prey
You're gone and my soul is disappe

Releasing the moonlight-blue butterflies who flap so vigorously
Encased within the walls of me
The rain I dreamt of washed over
And showed me a garden of an alternative heart's desire
My thoughts of a rigid, stable column
Split into haunting doubles
I watch what no one else could see as an angel
Things I've done I wouldn't do for those of the past
A sweet horrid intoxication of a fair enlightener
Study of smiles, words of lesson and a voice of pleasantry
The delivery response of a pigeon dove to my heart
Will never come
A poisonous kiss I'd never receive

My midnight lover comes and takes
The dusts of anguish from my face,
With gentle hands he soothes away
The specks of doubt from my display.

His careful hands cause my mind to

His chest heaves in time with my breaths
We are in sync and in tempo,
In rhythm as I lay quiet
Watching his dance and song of love.
Whilst cold night sleeps my lover sweeps
The dusts of sorrow from my cheeks,
With soft lips he kisses away
The aches and swells of lonely day.

And take to sea the carrion of your grief
To sink and erode on the bed of my ocean.
I keep safe your vessels broken with rot

My boats ache with love,
Each kiss is a breath to my sails
I surrender them to you
To transport the coarse granules of my existence
From my beaches to mix with yours.
My vessels rest within your harbor
Buoyed on your hopes,
And in the company of your boats
I am anchored to heaven.

Romantic and Erotic Miss-Cats
Understanding dA's Prose Categories: Romantic & Erotic Fiction
Keep in mind, when submitting literature, that the category really does make a difference. Properly-categorized literature can result in better readers who are more inclined to like what you're offering because you're giving them exactly what they are looking for. Consequently, this also helps lessen the number of derogatory comments you might get based on someone's mistaken expectation of your work, style, or subject matter. The experience for a reader who runs into a miss-categorized text is similar to someone walking into the "Science Fiction a

Editorial - Why Write?
Why Write?
People have been writing all sorts of different things for quite a long time now, and while the content of what they write is obviously quite important I'd like to discuss why they write these things. There are almost as many reasons to write, as there are things to write about. Some of them are good reasons; some of them are frivolous; and some of them are just outright bad. There are personal reasons to write, monetary ones, and sometimes people just write for the mere sake of writing. I'd like to focus on the good reasons to write, because its those reasons in particular that tend to lend themselves more to good writing.
Questions for your Character by WeCritique, literature
Questions for your Character
10 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK YOUR CHARACTER
How can you write about what a character will do or say if you don't know how they think, or what is "in character" for them? If you're writing from the point of view of one or more of your characters, it's even more important to know them as well as you know yourself. Often, you need to be able to put yourself in a character's place, to get right inside their head to see what they're thinking. One way to do this is to ask them questions. These ten probing questions will get you started.
1) Who are you?
Answers to this question can range from simply a name to a deep exploration of the character's
You sit down, and you think – but nothing comes out of that pen. No, the pen has ink, but you're brain-dead. It's a problem that we'll all feel as writers, whether it be temporarily, or when we are in a "dry spell" phase, in which we cannot find that source of motivation. Some call it a "muse", or someone who brings along the artistic stimulation to the mind that has helped many (as it probably did with William Shakespeare at many times in his mysterious life). Face it. Without inspiration, there is nothing. Without it, threw would be no creations… No artwork, as there would be no deviant ART without (and, this statement may be controversial

Character Profile Outline
Okay, before anybody starts to think this is some weird idea, let me explain.
For anyone who knows how to write (and I mean, REALLY knows how to write), you understand that a good story has everything written out on paper first. You know, stuff like Outlines, Plot Triangles, Character Profiles. This might be of a challenge to some of you and tie you down, but unless you are capable of keeping every piece of information in your mind, this is a good resource to fall back on. If you do not need this, then fineyou arent required to use it. According to Science Fiction Writers of America, do
A Guide to Positive Critiques by PoetryPlease, literature
A Guide to Positive Critiques
A Positive Critique:
• Does not solely concentrate on a poem's weak points, but tempers constructive criticism with acknowledgment of the good features.
• Is not made up of comments like "well done" or emoticons, as they do not explain why the poem is well written. Comments and emoticons belong in the introduction and summary only.
• A knowledge of technical poetic terms is desirable, but not necessary, to be able to provide constructive criticism.
• Try to keep your thoughts focused on the poem and how it affects you as the reader.
• Explain why you liked or disliked the poem; don't just state the emotion it triggered.
•
If your poem's rhythm is bad, your poem will be bad.
That's right, I said it. Poetry without rhythm (or poor examples of it) is like a brain-bound rusty screwdriver: stimulating but never a good idea. After you've digested all of that "show don't tell" imagery bullshit, you need to pay attention to your rhythms.
Don't just read your poem, say it out loud. A poem that sounds great spoken will look great written. If you aren't confident in your abilities, work on it. Limiting yourself to syllabic structure is an excellent way to learn. Jot a few lines down, figure out some sort of syllabic structure (seven syllables / five syllables / seven s

As last Thursday was St. Valentine's Day I think, and I hope you'll agree, that it's appropriate for us to have 'Love' as our theme for the week.
Submit your love themed poetry using the usual rules, two entries per member. You can submit old and new pieces but make sure they're your favourites. You don't have to submit 'happy' poetry; bitter and angry are more than welcome. All the conflicting emotions of love are relevant.
DEADLINE: Wednesday 27th February (UK time)
