Be a Digital Artist, without Pirating or Starving!
Journal Updated: May 2015
It use to be, in ye olden times, it was difficult to break into the digital art field without some serious cash. Everyone insisted you needed Intuo (but you settled for a 4 x5 Graphire) and Photoshop or Painter was the way to go (which you pirated because you didn't have $500+ lying around). Having a computer that could run a resource heavy program like Photoshop was often difficult too (you dealt with it).
That was then, this is now. Breaking into the Digital Art field is a whole lot easier AND cheaper.

DeviantART has been around for almost twelve years, and in that time, we've seen artists grow from hobbyists to students to professionals. As a member of any community, your identity can change and grow over time.
For years, we've been getting requests from the community asking for the ability to change usernames. We realize that as an artist, it's important to give you the ability to change your personal brand, just as you change your interests, skills, and art types.
How It Works
Deviants can now change their username in their Settings. To change your username, you must have an active Premium Membership. (The reason there is a "fee" ass
So, I really don't think I'll be putting much, if any, art up on dA anymore. I'm just bored with it (this website). I will still check my account regularly, so I'm not just shutting it down. I'll just be commenting on other people's stuff, and not putting anything of my own up.
I do have some projects that I want to keep people updated on, but will just edit this journal if anything significant starts to happen.

And by all means, if you're over on Tumblr, too, let me know!
I have applied to a graduate Ph.D. program, and am waiting to hear back on acceptance. :edit: I
I think I should be goin', yeah
And time doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rollin'
Sail on, on a distant highway
I've got to keep on chasin' a dream
I've gotta be on my way
Wish there was something I could say.

I would apologize for not being at all active here on dA, but really, I'm not feeling terribly guilty about it. I do have a few arts that I'll be putting up soon, but I've been busy applying for jobs in my career field (unfortunately, not to any success), and packing and moving twice since the end of May. And, unfortunately, the personal projects I'm working on r
And so, a little over four months since my last journal, and a new deviation around ten months since the previous submission. Wow, I've been busy here. :P
I'm still without a computer, and all I can say is, it's all my own darn fault. My MA graduation gift from my folks is going to be a new laptop (or, perhaps desktop, not decided yet), but I have hesitated getting a new one because of my neverending floating job situation. I'm trying to get a job down in Colorado, but not much effort has gone into getting one yet (still), and I don't want a new laptop to get thumped around when I finally do move. Bah. Job hunting sucks as it is, let a
