Kamen Rider Canvas By Malunis by SoraWolf7 Kamen Rider Canvas By Malunis by SoraWolf7
Big thanks to :iconmalunis: for helping me flesh out and design my first real original Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Canvas!

Canvas has been in the works for a long while, at least in the vein of an original Kamen Rider Concept. I started during Ex-Aid, which is why there's some look like that to the Eyes, and as Build came in, the animal-inorganic idea piqued, and eventually with feedback from Malunis, we were able to solidify it into something much more original.

Kamen Rider Canvas's world isn't set as of yet, but the mechanics of his form are. As shown, he can assume a Canvas such as the basic White Wolf by swiping an appropriate Canvas Card in the CanvasDriver. This was partially to reflect my current way of making pictures (drawing on paper with pencil and then scanning it on a scanner to digitize it), and to further use the idea of scanning cards by swiping them rather than placing them into a particular area and closing it.

If he swipes a Canvas Card with an armament card in it, it'll create a small droid based on the animal of the card which can attach to his body like armor, similar to Fourze's Modules, as shown by the Stag Scissors droid here. However, I do have it planned that unlike Fourze's Modules, the droids can be moved to another limb if it's possible to wield it there (which more often than not, it is). Part of that is to reflect the creativity of art and using media in unexpected ways. To cancel a form or droid, Canvas just presses the red button on the top of the Driver's little screens. Pressing both buttons cancels the transformation willingly.

There will be more to come as I slowly work on this and some named will be changed, but the commission I got from Malunis was worth every penny, even if I dragged things out with real life. ^^;

This was not drawn by me, but by :iconmalunis:. Here's his prices! Commissions by Malunis

It's good to see something non-TG once in awhile, change of pace.

oh this is cool! so he can only have one droid at a time?

i love the idea of creative uses for druids, means the more creatively minded can bring out the best in it! like a stag-scissor kick!

i'm curious what the white wolf form specialises in, but assumably it's the all rounder base of the forms ^-^

Well, my thought process was that unless he hits the "clear" button on top of the driver, the Droid will stay summoned. If that's too complicated, his sidearm that I have to draw yet will be able to summon more Droids anyway.

Thanks! I liked how Fourze's modules worked, and fans always have ideas on moving them to new limbs anyway.

Yeah, the White Wolf form is the all-around in stats base form. The other base forms I have in mind will be faster, stronger, or have a special skill.

ah okay, so how many droids can he equip at a time?

also you're right, moving something like Drill to an arm is such a simple idea it works :P

and cool to know non-droid weapons/equipment shall be a thing

am excited to see more of this creative hero

I'd say for how many droids he can equip at a time, it'd be at best, like Kamen Rider Birth's Birth Day form. Fill up all the "slots" on the body, which are two arms, two legs, and the back. And there's only one copy of each Droid at a time, so it's not like he can make multiple copies yet. I have plans on expanding that for the final form, but that's a ways off.

There's definitely more to it than that, because I do have a specific Droid planned that references Kamen Rider Kick Hopper and Punch Hopper, but it works best when combined with one of the forms I have in mind.

He really helped bring mine to life. And now I have a lot of concept work to do for the armaments for Canvas.
