My god, I'm loving the oppositional tension going on in this page 😄, XD. The dim lighting and shadows perfectly reflect how real this got. And the expressions on both characters help sell it too 👌.
The transitioning of the first three panels with Leo's reaction was so well drawn 🤩. Love how it starts off with him looking absolutely shook and speechless, but then we get a closeup of his eye showing great defiant conviction.
I'm pleased that this more grave hurdle in LeoCass's relationship is finally being addressed, and that Leo's taking it seriously. After all, despite everything the pair has been through, Cass is still deeply loyal to the Foot, and is desperate to earn their approval and respect.
I also like how both are standing their grounds when it comes to this argument. Leo won't let the Recruit and her Clan go through with their mission and endager his family, and Cass won't let the red slider and his brothers interfere with her shared goal with the Foot.
But what's even more interesting was how defiant Leo was of Cassandra's belief that she'd find purpose and happiness with the Clan. Obviously, Leo's in denial due to his love for her, but he's also seen how kind Cass could be too. So there's some truth there 😌.
(Even though it's small, I enjoyed Cassandra's surprised reaction to this statement from Leo in the last panel, lol)
