It HAS been a while hasn't it! Honestly I wanted to wait to continue this until I got the first issue physically printed- but to do that you need a cover and to make a cover you need time I haven't had much of lately XD
I'm not complaining by any means! I like to be kept busy but it means my hobbies have to be put on hold sadly ;o;
Regardless, I'm somehow getting more pages out than when I only had school so I guess I'm doing SOMETHING right in regards to time management!
The cover IS complete but I'm going to save revealing it until the printed copies exist c: So far only my good friends
have seen them! I hope to use a similar technique for the Counting Stars cover (though this is still controversy on whether that one should be printed or not- I haven't had anything directly said to me but I've heard of a lot of problems when people try to print fanfics/ fan comics etc; this is basically because there's a line people see between printing and selling your own original work (i.e. this comic, World of Wolves) and printing and selling work that is heavily inspired/ outright fanwork of something else (i.e. Counting Stars is a Pokemon comic therefore it doesn't technically belong to me)- I personally feel it should be allowed to be printed and sold because the art, half of the story and most of the characters are my own, and it's not like Nintendo will care about me sending them 50% of the like £4.00 annual pay I'm going to receive of it anyway XD I see where the trouble comes from, but ultimately I think it's silly xP)
Anyway! The other thing is I'm trying something different here- instead of drawing the comic on paper, then drawing over it using SAI and colouring it, I'm trying to instead draw and ink up the pages on paper, scan in pure black and white then colour those lines in SAI using the predrawn lines
This will hopefully get pages out faster but, knowing the pages as I do, I detect a grittiness (literally) in the lines and I'm not sure if it looks okay or not (especially considering the entire first issue has been done another way)
I'm sure it's not noticeable to most, but it might start to be more apparent in later issues when you can see ink splatters and stuff!
It would help if I had a mouse! So long story short our paper waste basket sits right next to the computer
Very frequently something bumps into the desk (person or cat, mostly) and I've experieneced the mouse fall off into the bin
Normally it's noticed pretty quick but, like I said, I've been busy and wouldn't have noticed if the screen itself went missing XD
Basically, I think the mouse has fallen off into the bin and been chucked out
I did go through the rubbish in the main bin but we also visited the dump and alas, our little mouse is gone
I was thinking of getting a new one anyway, and I'm adept at using the keyboard controls and drawing tablet now, which suffice just as well!
Until then though, I'll leave my usual guide of "next, previous and first" pages because I find it very hard to copy and paste stuff with the tablet pen alone XDI'm also having an issue with publishing- I saved some options and now all my art is flowing straight into the Pokemon Counting Stars folder XD HELP
