I thought that lighthouse looked familiar, I saw the Destiny's End trailer on youtube and was so excited...its too bad it was cancelled =(

Fantastic scene, the fog effect exemplifies the eerie landscape perfectly =)

wow, great to hear someone made that connection, we actually had that whole bit of the gameplay working, sad no-one will see it now.

Just read the other comments, "Destinies End" would have been cool to play.

Reminds me of the locals in Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth when the game decides to go all run and gun on the player and your fleeing Innsmouth, guess what I'm saying is, epic win on the atmosphere and creepy feel on this piece.

no kidding- this was supposed to be for that Lovecraftian game i read about a few years back? i wondered why i never heard anything more about it...
god forbid anything should ever come out even semi-literary anymore...

hehe, yeah thats the one, we did release it, but it was what I like to call a stealth release without any recognizable marketing push or hype or anything, resulting in very few people playing the game, but it seems they enjoyed it.

that's too bad, i wonder why they would release it that way. sounds like it was pretty damned good. wish i could have gotten my hands on it. me & my friend, both Lovecraft devotees, were dying to try it.

you can pick it up cheaply second hand, it is also available on steam again due to popular demand.
TornStitches's avatar
i apologize for my ignorance but what is steam, b/c i definitely will try to find it...
sonofamortician's avatar
sorry, I should've explained actually, steam is a digital distribution system that was made the game company Valve to release games online, it is a program you download for free I believe and you can then use it to buy any of the hundreds of games available on steam. They've recently made a bunch of 'old' games available, and ' call of Cthulhu, dark corners of the earth ' is one of them.

ooh, thank you for the most helpful information. thanks to your assistance, i shall now be stuck exploring subterranean passageways & eldritch secrets of the Great Old Ones.

not that i wasn't already; it's just that now i can take a more active role.

thanks!

i really like the glow fog leaves on the surroundings and the lights peeping through it. you have brought it very well and the depth too.

so sad this game was cancelled :(
sonofamortician's avatar
yeah, I really regret it, I was quite proud of it at the time and it was as good as anything on the PS2 in my opinion, but thats just the way things go sometimes :(
