Hmm... I think I need a bit of context about this piece since it seems to refer to a specific place. However, based on the title and the image I think this deals with a different type of memory and decay. The dwindling role of traditional forms of manufacturing that characterized the industrial revolution of the 1800s and early to mid 1900s. In this context, the building not only acts as a remnant of the past, but of shifting futures where the means of production are ever evolving, rendering previous methods of manufacturing, and way of living that are defined by them, obsolete.
