A beloved (at least by me) author here on DA and many other places is in a tough situation, and needs money. I’ve appreciated her works and want to help, even though i myself am in a difficult financial situation on a perpetual forever basis. OK fine. I’ve never given money like this before (that i can remember), but i want to help at least a little bit this time. She listed a whole bunch of ways she could get paid. I have issues with pretty much every tech company she listed, so most were non-starters: i’d have to create an account and do a bunch of other stuff i don’t want to do. I want to help, but the friction is too much. PayPal is least worst. A donation is what i want to do, rather than buying something, when she’s already given so much for free which has benefitted my life. I’ve paid via PayPal in the past without having an account there, paying someone with an account there. She has a PayPal account and has provided the necessary information. I go to PayPal. DA has its algorithms for offering new content creators for us to consider, and of course the whole Favorites and Follows systems. With so many artists (broad definition) coming and going, it’s still occasionally worth an actual human creator making a post like this to call attention to an artist of merit. In this case, that’s DonnaBee66. If you like high quality well-written fat lit and are willing to forego fat gain/feedism for excellent tales of plush passion and romance, you will do well to check DonnaBee66’s literature out. She’s new to DA, but in no way new to the writing craft, with years of skill under her generous belt. If you like whimsical, playful fun art, she’s new to visual/graphic arts, and has a style i find charming. Leave pretenses, posturing, and advanced technicality behind for the beauty of simple artful joy. This is only what i see today on her profile/in her gallery, so early in her time here. We creatives know that it’s unfair for any of us to be boxed into

This article is also available on my personal site. Giving Thanks Thank You, everyone involved with DeviantArt, for making and maintaining your platform where we artists (general definition) can share our creations with the world. You’ve (apparently) been putting great effort into systems and mechanisms which help artists protect their works—wonderful!, and likely to help keep DeviantArt a preferred artists’ space, especially if DA leads other sites with this. It may seem strange to start out what assuredly is going to be a rant about DeviantArt (DA) and its policies with this note of gratitude, but so often we forget: There Is No Entitlement. No one owes us such a system or platform. People worked hard (i’m guessing) to make it happen, and continue working hard to keep it operable, (reasonably) secure, and viable. This creative/content creator as well as consumer publicly acknowledges that a platform like DA is important and worthwhile. Having written that, it is important to
