Description
Okay, so I’ve had this guy laying around for months and never got around to posting pictures of him. 😅 So without further ado, I present to you all the SD Zakuto Yami Syougun. 🙂 I really don’t know anything about the series this one is from other than that it’s from one of the Brave Battle Warriors series. Anyone that knows my taste in mobile suits knows that I love me some Zakus, and I just couldn’t resist a little samurai Zaku. 😀 Look at him! How could I resist? 😆
This is a very neat little kit, and requires very little paint is you use the sticker decals. SD kits are typically very dependent on sticker decals, and this one is no exception. I’ve gotten better at applying sticker decals over time, so I used as many of the ones that came with this kit as I could. And once you get them on there, they actually look pretty good on this one. 🙂 The kit itself, like most SD kits, is very easy to assemble, and the only really time consuming thing about it is applying the sticker decals and adding some panel lines. I only panel lined some of the parts, as a lot of the that you’d want to panel line on this one are either hidden by the armor or the pieces are too dark to notice.
The articulation on this kit is exactly what you’d expect from an SD kit, with the exception of the not often seen articulated elbows on the arms. You can actually get a small have bend out of the arms. This kit also has a fun gimmick where you can move the monoeye using a switch on the back of the head. You have to remove his helmet to get to it, though, which may or may not get annoying while you’re posing him.
Overall, this is a very cool little kit! 🙂 I may be a bit biased since I’m a fan of the Zakus, but in my opinion, it’s a cool kit, and pretty good for an SD Zaku. If you’re a fan of the BB Warriors series, or you just want something fun to work on, I recommend picking this guy up. 😊
