This is the Real Grade 1/144 Wing Gundam. 🙂 It seems that every time I think Bandai can’t impress me more with their Real Grade line than they do, the release a new addition to the line and impress me even more! 😄 This kit is no exception. This kit just looks so nice and so sharp!
As far as Real Grade kits go, this one is very impressively engineered. The gimmicks they worked into this one are amazing for this size scale. Especially for the transformation to Flight Mode. Oddly enough, this is the first Real Grade Gunpla I’ve ever come across that doesn’t have an opening cockpit hatch. I guess given the placement of the Wing Gundam’s cockpit, it just wasn’t workable in this scale. It’s not an issue to me, though. This thing has so much going on that you won’t even miss the missing cockpit gimmick.
The transformation to Flight Mode is impressively intricate for a lot this size, and I can almost guarantee that you’ll find yourselves thinking “Wow!” while you transform it for the first time. Unlike the High Grade version, this kit’s transformation isn’t limited to Flight Mode. It also has a more birdlike Flight Form. The second Flight Mode is a little tricky because they don’t actually give you instructions for it, but I just used the picture on the box to work it out.
As always, I like to try to keep my reviews unbiased, and there are some things I don’t like about this kit. Mainly constantly having to adjust the claw pieces on the lower arms any time you want to bent the arms for a pose. I also don’t like the base adapter piece, because it makes it so you can’t use it it’s a clear display stand. My only other issue is that the joints that connect the wings to the backpack don’t always hold the wings up the way you want them to.
Overall, this is one of the nicest Real Grade kits Bandai has released, and I loved working on it. 🙂 I got this kit from the good folks at GalacticToys for $38, which seems be the ballpark retail price for this kit. I’m really impressed with the detail and engineering of this kit, and I absolutely recommend to fans of Gundam Wing. 😄

I don't know, I'm not really feeling it with this one. This is one of the real grade for the first time that skip out on cockpit gimmick, can we really even call this a real grade at this point? A blow up size full mechanic maybe but definitely not a real grade. Nice job with this by the way, good to see you're still uploading on DA^^
