RG 1/144 Johnny Riddens Zaku II

I’m sorry this took so long to post. I’ve been sick on and off a lot lately. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you all the Real Grade 1/144 Johnny Ridden’s Zaku II. This is honestly one of the best Real Grade kits that I’ve purchased. I absolutely love the badass design, and the construction is pretty solid. It has the same problem as the Real Grade 1/144 Char’s Zaku II, where the midsection is a bit loose when you’re handling it, but other than that, Bandai has taken the issues that I had with the Real Grade 1/144 Char’s Zaku II and completely fixed them. Namely they redid how the side skirts are attached to allow more outward leg movements, and they got rid of the sliding panels on the biceps.
If you’ve built either the Real Grade 1/144 Zaku II or Char’s Zaku II, as soon as you open the box to this kit, you’re going to notice a lot of similar pieces. This is because a lot of the building steps for this kit are the same as them. You even get pieces change the torso and cockpit to look more like Char’s. You also get the same command antenna piece as Char’s, so you have two different command antennas to choose from. You also get all of the same weapons. The only new weapon that this kit has is the mega bazooka. Ultimately, the only differences are the new backpack and the upgraded legs.
Besides the midsection being a bit loose at times, you don’t get as much articulation out of the legs. You only get a half bend at the knee because the bulky lower legs obstruct the articulation beyond that. Other than that, though, the articulation is pretty good. All in all, this is a really cool kit, and and if you’re big Zeon or Zaku fan like me, this kit is definitely worth picking up.
