NECA Temple Guard Predator Figure

This is the NECA AVP Temple Guard Predator figure. :) For centuries, the Yautja have had a presence on Earth and have quietly influenced our history and culture. Worshipped as gods, these ancient Predators taught humans how to construct pyramids and temples that served as ceremonial hunting grounds for Young Blood Yautja while hosting many dangerous prey. As a tribute to their off-world deities, the natives would sacrifice themselves for these hunts, voluntarily becoming breeding grounds for creatures such as Xenomorphs.

Personally appointed by the clan elders, the Temple Guard Predators (also known as “Guardians) are chosen for their loyalty and fighting skill as they are the personal protectors of the clan leaders. These Yautja must give up the hunter’s life to honor their leader as a soldier and defender, preventing everything from assassinations to clan wars. The temple guards are also essential for off-world escorts, as they are tasked with protecting their Elder from the prey being hunted and keeping order among the alien civilizations they encounter.

These NECA AVP figures are extremely hard to come by, unfortunately. Which is a shame, because they’re made so you swap out the hand and weapons with other figures in the line to make your own unique Predator figure. Each Predator figure in the line comes with its own array of accessories. I stumbled across this one by chance at a booth at a collectibles show, and since it was my first time seeing one of these figures in the wild, I had to have him. As far as accessories go, this one includes a shuriken, a ceremonial dagger, a spear, blades, a backpack, a plasma caster, and a few small skulls. The articulation is on part with most NECA Predator figures.

I had a hard time finding problems with this guy, because’s he’s a pretty solid figure. My only real complaint is that the wires that connect the biomask to the backpack come out really easy when you turn the figure’s head left or right. There is a little trick I use to get around this, and that’s simply tucking the wires behind the dreadlocks. There is a ports for the wires are under the dreadlocks anyway, so if you tuck them in there, it looks like they’re connected properly.

All in all, as a big AVP fan, I think this figure is really cool. These figures can get very pricey, this particular one going for around $100 on eBay. I got him for $80 at a collectibles show, but with that price tag, I would really only recommend this figure to die hard Predator or AVP fans, as it isn’t worth the price tag otherwise. Definitely a very cool figure, and he looks great on display, but I really only recommend him to die hard fans.
