My Custom Lightsaber

This is the lightsaber that I built at Savi’s Workshop in Galaxy’s Edge. I chose the “Peace and Justice” parts set and a violet colored kyber crystal. I knew the parts set and crystal I was going to months before I actually went and built my lightsaber. I put a lot of those into which parts set spoke to me the most, and in the end, Peace and Justice was the one that I was drawn to. As for the crystal, I’ve been drawn to the thought of a violet lightsaber ever since I saw one for the first time. Also, violet feels like a middle ground between the light and the dark for me, which is another thing that drew me to it.

Yes, it is a bit big. Like the Force FX lightsabers, these had to be made a bit bigger in order to fit all the electronics inside. Also, the blades on these ones are removable, so there had to be enough room to fit the base of the removable blade. In terms of price, it’s a bit more than the cost of a Force FX lightsaber, costing $200 plus $15 tax. A standard Force FX lightsaber will run you $150 retail, but honestly, I think it’s worth the extra money to get the lightsaber building experience.

I feel I should warn you guys that in order to build a lightsaber in Galaxy’s Edge, you need to book a reservation in advance to your trip. Reservations can be booked up to two weeks in advance of your trip. You can make a reservation on the Disneyland website or the Disney Parks mobile app. When booking your reservation, you’ll need to enter how many people in your party will be building lightsabers. You’ll also need a valid credit card. Your card won’t be charged when booking the reservation, though. This is in case you miss your reservation. You don’t actually pay for your reservation until you’re there at Savi’s Workshop. However, they won’t let you pay or choose your lightsaber parts set until the time of your reservation. Also, if you miss your reservation, the card you used to book the reservation will be charged a $200 cancellation fee per builder. I know. It’s crazy, and how it’s legal for Disney to do that is beyond me, but that’s how it works. Because of this, I strongly advise arriving at Savi’s Workshop 10 or 15 minutes before your reservation just to be safe.
