Morstorm 1/9 Iron Man Mk XLVI

This is the Morstorm 1/9 scale Iron Man Mk XLVI model kit! This was honestly one of the most challenging model kits I’ve ever worked on, mainly due to the perfect color separation of the parts. This model has absolutely zero stickers and needs zero paintwork whatsoever! This is a REALLY NICE model kit, let me start off by saying that!

The Mk XLVI is the armor that Tony wore in “Captain America: Civil War”, and this model does an excellent job at replicating it. You get a wide assortment of hands, effect parts, accessories, and even a display stand, so you can display very easily and in all kinds of cool poses. It does come with a flying missile pod, but I didn’t use that seeing as he didn’t have that in the movie (I honestly don’t know why it was included). Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this kit art the LED units for the eyes, arc reactor, and hands. You not only get the LEDs, but also the batteries for them, saving you the trouble of having to buy anything extra. The LEDs for the eyes and arc reactor look fantastic, but the ones for the hands leave a lot to be desired. The ones for the hands are also extremely difficult to take out to switch them on and off, so I just don’t use them. The ones for the eyes and arc reactor are much easier to switch on and off, doing so with a simple push on the chest for the arc reactor, and the push of a boon the head for the eyes.

I’ve never heard of Morstorm before, but they definitely impressed me with this model kit. They also make 1/9 scale model kits of the Mk XLIX (49), Mk L (50), and Mk LXXXV (85), so you have a few different suits to choose from. Or you can buy them all and connect the bases together. I might actually consider buying the others one of these days, but being that these kits range in price from $85-$90, they’ll pretty expensive. This one cost me $85, and I can definitely say that it’s worth it. 🙂 These kits are a must have for any Iron Man fan! 😄
