MG 1/100 Jegan

This is the Master Grade 1/100 Jegan. 🙂 The Jegan highly exemplified the original concept of MS being "mobile infantry for melee combat", and is designed for close combat in and around space colonies. It can also operate under gravity without any modifications. With a backpack containing a single main thruster, two small thrusters at the bottom, and two articulated vernier arms at the top, the Jegan's thrust and acceleration performance could match high-mobility-type machines from the Gryps War-era.

I won’t lie, I slept on this kit for years before finally buying it, and this is a surprisingly peak Master Grade kit for a grunt mobile suit. There isn’t a lot of panel lining to do on this one, so even if you do a straight out of the box build, this thing is going to look fantastic. The build is a bit simplistic for a Master Grade kit, with not many of the cool bells and whistles Master Grade kits are known for. The color separation, however, is peak! I was afraid that I was going to have to paint the inside of the thrusters, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the thrusters are completely color separated. You don’t get a ton of accessories with this kit, but it lacks in accessories, it makes up for with its range of articulation.

This is mostly a pretty solid kit, but it does have a couple of small issues. First, the panels on the thighs fit on a bit loosely, and sometimes come loose while posing the legs. The other issue is that the right hand sometimes falls apart when swapping out the fingers. I didn’t use glue on this one, though, so these are bother problems that can be solved with a bit of glue.

All in all, this is a really nice kit, and probably the best Jegan on the market. The build is both fun and easy, making this a great kit for both beginners and experts alike. If you’re looking for a good Jegan for your collection, I highly recommend this one. 🙂
