Description
I haven’t posted in a whirl due to a lot going on in my family this year, but I figured I’d let you guys know that yes, I am still alive, and I do still build Gundam models. 😆 Anyway, without further ado, I present to you all the Master Grade 1/100 Hyper Mode God Gundam! This gorgeous kit is decked out in gold colored coating, and yes, it attracts fingerprints like a magnet. 😆
The God Gundam (aka Burning Gundam in the English Dub) comes to us from my all time favorite Gundam series, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and is the mobile suit piloted by the Gundam fighter representing Neo Japan, Domon Kasshu. While many mobile suits are armed with shields and beam rifles, the God Gundam was designed solely for melee combat in order to allow Domon to utilize his martial arts abilities to the fullest. It is, however, armed with head mounted vulcan guns, hidden vulcan guns in the shoulders, and two beam sabers.
When the God Gundam enters Hyper Mode, it’s entire body turns gold, and it’s abilities are raised to their very highest. This kit uses gold colored coating to replicate the Hyper Mode appearance. Be VERY careful attempting to panel line this kit, as the coating prevents the ink from the pen from wiping off. The lines on the faceplate and the vents on the side of the head are big enough to safely panel line without needing to wipe anything away as long as you’re careful, but I wouldn’t push my luck farther than that.
The inner frame is molded out of what looks like gold injected plastic, and like all the kits in the G Gundam Master Grade line, the joints are secured using screws and bolts. A small philips head screwdriver is all you’ll need to do that. This also lets you tighten and loosen the joints during assembly as you see fit, which is quite handy.
As a G Gundam fan, I absolutely LOVE this kit! It is absolutely gorgeous! This is one of the two pricier kits in the lines, retailing between $70-$130 depending on where you order it. If you’re a die hard fan of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, then I highly recommend treating yourself to this beauty of a Gunpla! 😄
