MG 1/100 Gundam Vidar

This is the Master Grade 1/100 Gundam Vidar. :) This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, and is piloted by Gaelio Bauduin. At an unknown point in time, the damaged Gundam Kimaris Trooper was brought to the Outer Lunar Orbit Joint Fleet, and under the orders of Rustal Elion, it was overhauled into the Gundam Vidar for Vidar’s use. During the overhaul, the damaged parts of the Gundam Frame were replaced with new parts produced using the current technology. As part of the overhaul process, the mobile suit first became the ASW-G-XK XK to test its systems, before it achieved its current final form.

Up until recently, Bandai had only released on Master Grade kit from Iron-Blooded Orphans, which left fans of the series wanting to see more mobile suits from the series get a Master Release. It took Bandai a while, but they finally answered the call, and released the Gundam Vidar as a Master Grade kit. And guys, this thing looks spectacular! It is so cool and so sharp looking, and the Master Grade marking decals really help plus up this kit’s appearance. The articulation is mostly what you’d expect from a modern Master Grade, however, the range of motion for the front skirt parts is a bit limited while you have the handguns stored in them.

This is one of those kits that I had a hard time critiquing in any way, because it’s such a solid kit. The biggest issue I found is that the legs fit a bit loosely into the lower body. Not loose enough that they can’t hold a pose, but loose enough that I can see it being a problem later on. Honestly, though, that’s really it. Other than that, this thing is solid!

All in all, I absolutely love this kit! It turned it out so well! It really makes me hope that they’ll consider doing more Master Grade kits from Iron-Blooded Orphans in the future. This kit is a bit on the pricey end, but between how sharp it looks, and how cool it looks on display, I definitely find this kind to be worth having. Whether you’re a die hard Iron-Blooded Orphans fan, or you just want something cool and unique for your Master Grade collection, I definitely recommend picking this kit up. 😄
