Hasbro Zoids Battlers Tanks

This is the Hasbro Zoids Battlers Tanks kit! 🙂 While the Zoids Battler kits were made in collaboration with Takara Tomy, there are definitely noticeable differences between this and the Takara Tomy one (which I have coming in the mail soon). One particular thing that I’ve noticed is that unlike the Takara Tomy ones, the Hasbro ones include a fully painted rider figure to go with the Zoid. With the Takara Tomy ones, they all come with the same unpainted rider figure. So I give Hasbro big props for putting in that extra bit of effort in theirs. This one includes a fully painted figure of Tanks’ rider, Analog (aka Onigiri in the Japanese dub). I’ve also noticed that the motors in the Hasbro ones are the same shape and design as the Takara Tomy ones (so if you wanted to swap the motors, you can do that), but the Hasbro ones are actually a bit faster that the Takara Tomy ones. I think Hasbro did that to try and make the motorized functions a little more exciting for kids. As far as difficulty goes, this was a very easy and very fun build. 🙂 The instructions in the Hasbro ones are much clearer and easier to understand than the Takara Tomy ones. I think my only actual issue with this kit is that the switch to turn on and off the motor is really easy to accidentally flip while you’re handling the Zoid. Other than that, this is a pretty nice kit. The Takara Tomy ones have more gimmicks than the Hasbro ones, but if you don’t want to pay the extra money to get the Takara Tomy ones, or wait two or three weeks to order them from Japan, the Hasbro ones are a nice alternative. This kit retails for $19.99, and can easily be found on sites like Amazon and HasbroPulse.

For those wondering, I painted and panel lined mine. The rider figure comes fully painted, but I did some extra paintwork and panel lining on the Zoid itself.
