HG 1/144 Xaviers Gyan Hakuji-Packs

This is the High Grade 1/144 Xavier’s Gyan Hakuji-Packs. 🙂 This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, and is piloted by Xavier Olivette. A close combat mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon. It is equipped with a composite weapon called "Hakuji" which was comprised of a giant physical lance combined with additional thrusters on its back.

It’s a little known fact about me that I really like the look of the Gyan, so I was very excited when this kit was revealed. It’s a very cool take on the Gyan, and the metallic yellow stickers really add a nice flare to this kit. The stickers were a bit of a pain to apply, but they’re definitely worth the effort. There isn’t a lot of paint or panel lining needed on this kit. Most of the paint work needed on this kit is on the Hakuji.

In terms of looks, this is an awesome looking kit, but the kit itself does have a few issues. First, the way this kit is designed obstructs some of the outward articulation in the arms and legs. The next issue is that while the monoeye is articulated, it’s very tiny, which makes moving it a bit difficult. The last issue I have with this kit is the amount of paint work needed on the Hakuji. I feel like a lot of it could have been color separated.

All in all, this is a really nice looking kit, and I do like it overall. It does a really good job recreating the look of the mobile suit in the anime, and the metallic gold stickers really give this kit a more decorated look to it. Plus, it includes a stand for the Hakuji so you can display this kit with it. If you’re like me, and you just really dig the Gyan, or you’re trying to collect all of the GQuuuuuuX kits, I definitely think that this kit is worth having. 🙂
