HG 1/144 Windam

This is High Grade 1/144 Windam. 🙂 I actually forget when I picked this kit up, as I have a bit of a backlog of Gunpla I’ve built over the course of the pandemic. 😆 Anyway, since I still have watched Gundam Seed Destiny, this is one of those mobile suits I’ve never seen in action. But as far as a Gunpla goes, this thing is awesome! The color separation is nearly perfect, with very minimal need for stick decals or paint. This is one of those rare ones where I used most of the included decals because they actually look pretty good. The only parts that really need painting are vulcans on the head and upper body, and the rockets on the wings. Everything else is pretty much taken care of by the coloring of the pieces.
The beauty of this kit to me is the simplicity of the build. It utilizes a very similar building system as the HG Leo, which minimizes the number of pieces needed while still providing the articulation you expect from a modern day High Grade kit. It’s also designed so you can swap out the wing pack on it with the one on the Aile Strike Gundam if you want, as well as to be compatible with a P-Bandai expansion kit (sold separately).
Overall, I really like this one! It’s affordable, easy to build, requires very little paintwork, and has a wide range of articulation. All things that score big points with me. Do I recommend this kit? Absolutely! Most places sell this kit for $15-$20, so it’s good if you’re looking for something fun to build that’s within a low price range, and it’s easy assembly make it a great choice for both people that are new to the hobby and to experienced builders. 😊👍🏻
