HG 1/144 Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] with Base

This is a limited edition set they made several years ago in Japan. It features the High Grade 1/144 Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] along with a limited edition 1/48 transforming display base. Being a fan of the Unicorn Gundam, I mainly bought this set to get the transforming base since if you remove the part that the Gunpla attaches to, the base displays very nicely on its own.

The base is 1/48 scale, making the head the same size as a Mega Sized one, and it can transform into either Unicorn Mode or Destroy Mode. The transformation for the base works almost exactly the same as transforming the head on the Master Grade 1/100 Unicorn Gundam, with one added step. The only thing that might be a downside to some collectors is that the base comes completely unpainted. It’s has a few clear red pieces inside and on the face, but other than that, everything else, needs to be painted and panel lined. While some might look at that as an annoyance, I actually didn’t mind since I had so much fun doing the paintwork.
