HG 1/144 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam

This is the High Grade 1/144 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam. :) This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, and piloted by Kira Yamato, and is co-piloted by Lacus Clyne. The ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam is the combination of the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II and the Proud Defender support craft, replacing the Super DRAGOON wing backpack and giving it enhanced combat ability. It uses advanced nanoparticle technology controlled by its wings to create various offensive and defensive abilities, including the creation of a spherical energy shield capable of absorbing heavy attacks from all directions, and a wide-scale electric attack that can shut down enemy targets and destroy projectiles within a large area around it.

This is without a doubt one of the sharpest looking kits to come out of the SEED Freedom Line, and as far as sheer design goes, is one of my favorites to come from this line. Thankfully, this kit doesn’t have nearly as many stickers as some of the other kits in this line, and most of the stickers it does have go on the beam rifles. This kit also makes use of plastic decals for the pink lining on the wings, and the wings actually feature a bit of a transformation gimmick so you can decide how you want to display this kit at any given time. The articulation on this kit is fantastic, and boarders on a Master Grade level of articulation, allowing this kit to pull off almost any action pose you can think of.

As far as problems go, I’m going to be honest with you guys. I had a really hard time finding issues with this kit. The construction is just solid, and has almost no weak points. The only weak point I’ve found is that the beam sabers don’t tab into the side skirts very securely. If I had to pick anything else to nitpick on, I’d say that the wings can be a pain to handle at times while posing the kit. But that’s a common issue with kits that have big backpacks like this one. Overall, this is a fantastic kit, and one of the best this line has to offer. Which is saying a lot when you consider how many bangers this line has given us. I absolutely recommend picking this one up! The build is fun, and it looks amazing once you have it put together! 😄
