HG 1/144 Lightning Buster Gundam

This is the High Grade 1/144 Lightning Buster Gundam. :) This mobile comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, and is piloted by Dearka Elsman. The Lightning Buster Gundam is a modified version of the Buster Gundam that has been converted to run with a nuclear reactor. The cockpit has also been upgraded to that of a Zaku Warrior. Like the Buster, it is equipped with Missiles, Beam Cannons, Beam Guns, and other long-range weapons.

The Gundam SEED Freedom line has brought us banger after banger, and this kit is no exception! This thing looks awesome! You can’t look at those giant beam cannons without thinking that this thing is ready to take the fight to anyone in its way. The color separation is what we’ve come to expect from this line, that being fantastic, and like the other kits in the line, a little extra paint is an optional touch to get it looking how it does in the movie. Also, this kit is fully compatible with the Premium Bandai (P-Bandai) Meteor Unit (sold separately), so it can dock with that if you have it. The articulation is also really good. Even with the bulky shoulder armor, you won’t have any problems moving the arms.

This is one of those rare kits where I actually had a hard time finding things to critique. It’s really well done, and honestly one of my favorites to come from this line. If I had to pick anything that I don’t like about this kit, it would have to be the two color correcting stickers that go on each front side of the face. I never like applying those decals that have to carefully wrap around a piece. That might just be me, though. All in all, this is one cool looking Gunpla, and very fun to put together. It will look especially cool displayed alongside the HG 1/144 Duel Blitz Gundam (sold separately). Definitely worth adding to just about any collection. 😄
