HG 1/144 Kamiki Burning Gundam

Yeah, I’m still building Gunpla. 😆 I’m too deep into the hobby to quit any time soon. Anyway, without further ado:

This is the High Grade 1/144 Kamiki Burning Gundam from Gundam Build Fighters Try. 🙂 This is the Gunpla that Sekai built under the guidance of Shija Kijima after Team Try Fighters won the 13th U-9 National Championship Tournament. Built using the Try Burning Gundam as a base, this Gunpla was specifically designed by Sekai for melee combat, and to best untilize the kenpo martial arts style he was trained under.

I have to say, this was a very fun kit to put together. 🙂 I wound up not using most of the sticker decals, opting instead to paint most of the parts that needed stickers. I did use a few of them, though. The articulation on this kit is absolutely top notch, and fans of the Build Burning Gundam and the Try Burning Gundam will notice a lot of similar assembly steps with this kit. It also comes with all the same fire effect pieces from the Build Burning Gundam and the Try Burning Gundam, as well as some all new ones. So you can utilize the effect parts for some really awesome battle poses. Really, there are only two things I don’t like about this kit. First, the shoulders pop out really easily, which gets annoying when you’re trying to pose the kit. Second, it comes with no decals for the sword! The sword is just a plain unpainted piece, which looks really lame. I don’t see why they couldn’t include stickers for the swords, since that’s what they did for the High Grade 1/144 Sengoku Astray. So unfortunately, to get the sword looking right, you’re going to have to paint it. Other than those two gripes, I really dig this kit, and I do recommend it if your a fan of the series. 🙂
