HG 1/144 Gyan Strom

This is the High Grade 1/144 Gyan Strom (Agnes Giebenrath Custom). This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, and is piloted by Agnes Giebenrath. The Gyan Strom is a close-combat mobile suit built as the successor to the GOUF Ignited, currently operated exclusively by Compass, with potential ZAFT adoption pending the results of its field tests. In order to keep costs down and make it easier to mass-produce compared to its more expensive predecessor, the GYAN Strom shares many common components with the GELGOOG Menace, and as a result shares many of the latter suit's features including Wizard System hardpoints and use of the new B.O.L.E.L.O flight packs for improved performance.

I’ve always been a fan of the Gyan, and have always wished to see it get more variations. So when this kit was announced, I knew I was going to pick this one up! And it didn’t disappoint! This is such a good and solid kit! It has almost no loose parts, and comes with tons of cool accessories! There’s definitely some bits that need paint, but for the most part, the color separation of the pieces does most of the work with this kit.

As far as problems go, I had a very hard time finding any with this kit. It’s a very sturdy and well balanced kit. I only really have two issues with it. First, the stickers. The majority of the stickers on this kit go on the backpack. There are over 40 stickers to apply on the backpack, which is insane. My other problem is the more minor of the two, and that’s that the top of the head comes off really easily. That part is honestly the only loose part on the entire kit. It’s an easy fix, though, so that’s why I only consider it a minor issue.
Overall, this is a really great kit, and I love it! Bandai engineered this kit very well, and if you can get past the crazy number of stickers, it’s a very fun build, and looks awesome. Definitely worth having if you want a little variety in your Gyan collection. 😄
