HG 1/144 Gundam Ground Type

This is the High Grade 1/144 Gundam Ground Type. 🙂 This is one of those mobile suits that I really don’t know much about because it’s from a series I haven’t seen yet. I do know that it’s from Mobile Suit Gundam the 08th MS Team, and that unlike most Gundams, multiple ones of these were built using spare parts. Despite being an improvised mobile suit, it proved quite effective on the battlefield.
The kit itself is pretty nice. The v-fin (or whatever it’s called) on mine broke while I was posing the kit for a picture, but I decided to leave it like that because it kind gives a bit of a battle damaged look. The balljoint that connects the upper body to the midsection likes to pop out of place a lot, which can get extremely annoying while you’re trying to pose the kit. Other than that, and some pretty poor head articulation, this is a pretty cool kit. 🙂 I especially how the long range beam cannon can be separated into four sections and stored in the weapons container. It’s a very cool and very anime authentic gimmick. All in all, it’s a fun kit to detail and work on, and if you can overlook the problem with the balljoint at the midsection, then I do recommend it for your collection. Especially if you’re putting together your own 08th MS Team. 🙂
