HG 1/144 Guels Dilanza

This is the High Grade 1/144 Guel’s Dilanza. This mobile suit comes to us from Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury, and is piloted by Guel Jeturk. Among the basic MS Dilanza units developed by Jeturk Heavy Machinery, a number have been customized for their pilots. Guel’s has been modified to suit the piloting style. Its outward appearance has also been tailored to fit Guel's penchant for the ostentatious. Painted in a vivid magenta and fitted with a decorative headpiece, this unit embodies the skill and unshakable self-confidence which made Guel, Asticassia's best pilot.

As far as bulky mobile suits go, Bandai has continued to surprise me with the range of articulation of the Dilanzas. You’d think this kit would have very limited articulation because of the bulk, but it’s quite the opposite. You actually get a very wide range of movement out of this kit, letting it strike some pretty dynamic action poses. 🙂 This kit is actually pretty solid, and I found it difficult to find anything that I dislike about it. The hip joints that connects the legs to the lower body does tend to loosen a bit while you’re posing the legs, but if it gets too loose, you can push it back in and it will be fine again. All in all, this is a pretty great kit! I had a lot of fun working on this one. 🙂 If you’re a fan of Guel Jeturk, the Dilanza type mobile suits, or you’re just looking for something fun to build, I recommend adding this kit to your collection. 🙂
