HG 1/144 Gouf Revive

This is the High Grade 1/144 Gouf Revive. 🙂 The Gouf ranks in as my second favorite Zeon mobile suit (the Zaku being my top favorite), and after buying the Master Grade one for my 27th birthday, I became very interested in this High Grade Revive Version. Now, obviously it’s not as articulated as the Master Grade one, but it’s still a very nice kit. 🙂 The details are all really nice, the heatrod has a metal wire inside that allows you (albeit not easily) to move it around for battle and attack poses.
The build is mostly pretty solid, but you don’t really NEED to glue anything down, but I would recommend gluing the dark grey pieces on the lower parts of the knee armor, as those fit on a little loose. Otherwise, it’s pretty solid, and the build is surprisingly easy for how good this kit looks and the range of motion that you get out of it. My only two issues with the kit are how hard the heatrod is to get into the poses on the box, and the way the front skirt pieces attach. The front skirt pieces are each on a balljoint that pops into the side skirts, and while it sounds like a good idea, the problem is that they pop in really tightly, and are hard to move up or down for when you want to move either of the legs forward. Other than those two issues, this is a great kit.
All in all, this is a great kit, and a great representation of the Gouf from the anime series. If you don’t have any Goufs in your collection, this one is a good one to start with. It’s also a good for beginners. I definitely recommend it if you want a good looking Gouf for your collection, or a kit that’s both fun to build and looks cool. 😊
