HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX

This is the High Grade 1/144 GQuuuuuuX. :) This mobile suit comes to us from the film “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning”, and is mostly piloted by Amate Yuzuriha. A state-of-the-art mobile suit for Newtypes developed by the Principality of Zeon after the One Year War, the GQuuuuuuX was the result of Zeon's advanced mobile suit technology since they reverse-engineered the RX-78-02 White Gundam captured by Col. Char Aznable in late U.C. 0079. The GQuuuuuuX was equipped with a Psycommu system Omega Type, a further development of Psycommu system which was supposed to have been prohibited as a taboo after the One Year War.

I didn’t get to see the movie, so my knowledge of this mobile suit is limited to what I could find online. If this kit is the new 2025 HG standard, then Gunpla fans are going to be in for a treat this year. This kit is absolutely phenomenal! At first, I wasn’t a fan of the engineering during the build, but once I finished the kit and saw how it all came together, I was mind blown by how great the articulation of this kit is. You’ll have zero problems getting this kit into any cool action poses you can imagine. This was definitely one of the most complicated HG kits I’ve ever worked, but wow is it a work of Gunpla art! There’s definitely a moderate amount of paint work needed on this kit, which is a bit disappointing for a modern HG kit, but most of the paint work is pretty easy with a steady hand and some Gundam markers.

This is one of those kits that I like so much that it honestly pains me to say anything bad about it. It has almost no issues. The biggest issue it has is the marking decals. The red stripe decals on the lower legs were a nightmare for me to apply. I’m actually amazed I only messed up one. 😂 Other than that, though, this kit is honestly flawless, and I can’t recommend this kit enough. 😄
